Anhydrous sodium metasilicate (Na₂SiO₃, CAS 6834-92-0) contains no water of crystallisation, so it carries a higher active content (SiO₂ ≥44.5%, Na₂O ≥49.5% on the powder grade) and is preferred for dry-blend formulations where added moisture must be avoided.
